Skipped over to venice this weekend to run a overnight trip with david cauffe group from houston. Fished this trip on a buddy,s 36ft. baha catamaran which was clients choice due to being parcial to comfort and not speed. We left out saturday around lunch to be greeted by the best weather you could ask for, calm seas and wind. That afternoon after putting a few miles behind us we arrived at the spot to find the tuna jumping a little but i wanted to wait later for that because this place had marlin written all over it. First pass bam! fish on! nice cow that fell for a roper pearl head. humm, that was easy, so out go the baits again. next pass, bam! fish on! nice yellowfin that fell for the same bait. Pulled for about another hour with nothing to show for it and with the tuna around started working on them. When the smoke cleared in the early a.m. the tally was 8 yellows,1 dolphin and 6 blackfin 4 of which were cut for chum. We lost three yellows next to the damn boat due to ole give em slack trick.

All the guys had a great time as well as myself. I Enjoyed the trip and got to sip a few cocktails sunday evening with some venice buddies. Going back to Grand Isle in a few days for a green canyon trip if the weather is good.
