The weather has been great this past week and so has the fishing. We started out Wed. night going on an overnight trip for swordfish and tuna. We did not get a swordfish but we were able to catch about 12 black fin tuna right at dusk and first thing in the morning. On Thurs. Capt. Bob Kenney had part of the Brand Scaffolding crew and they wanted tuna. They had a great day catching a 170lb. Yellow fin and a couple of smaller ones, they also jumped off two blue marlin. The 170 took a long time to get to the boat and they fought him during most of the tuna bite. On Friday Capt. Bob and myself took out the Rice crew who were in town for a bachelor party. Capt. Bob's gang went 1 for 4 on Yellow Fin Tuna. and my crew went 4 for 6 on Yellow Fin Tuna. Our largest was about 65lbs. Capt. Josh had the Valdez crew on Friday and they ended up going 6 for 9 on Yellow fin. The best bite was very late in the afternoon. The tuna are starting to cooperate right now. The mahi-mahi have not shown up for us yet. It won't be long. Capt. Bob is back at it today. It looks like Sun. and Mon. will be a wash so Tues. will be our next day out. The fishing will only get better thru the summer and there will be a lot of variety. We have open days this week and next.
