Big tuna Fourchon, LA

Don’t be afraid to book your trip…..As a matter of fact you might want to do it now! I know the word is out and YES it is true that the big yellowfin are here and here to stay the winter!! The only problem is like Capt. Josh Howard stated in his earlier post is that nobody wants to book a trip this time of year. My question is WHY NOT? Is it because of the weather? It doesn’t stop clients from booking a Lump trip starting December but ask any charter captain around and they will tell you that the big fish get here before Lump season! Capt. Dennis Sr. teamed up with Capt. Kevin and crew at Moran’s marina this past Wednesday but before they could clear Belle Pass they blew the port engine on the Mule Team. We don’t know why the engine blew with 300hrs on it but that wasn’t going to hold this crew back so they went back to the marina and loaded up Capt. Kevin’s Twin Vee and headed for the tuna. It would turn out to be a good decision because they would have big tuna under the boat the entire day. The crew said it was cool but frustrating at the same time to see the 100 to 200 plus pound fish under the boat trying to get them to take a hook and if you don’t believe that the fish are this big right now just ask Capt. Trey about the 214 pounder he landed the next day in the same spot. Capt. Trey Wednesday’s crew wants to thank you for catching their fish!! Well done!! I’m glad that fish got caught because I heard that Capt. Kevin was about to blow his lid trying to get a hook in him! It’s gonna be okay Kevin cuz the fish is dead now and if it wasn’t the exact one from Wednesday it was his brother or cousin. All in all someone in the family paid the price for you cutting up all that bonito!!! Wednesday turned out to be a good day with a 140 and 110 making it back to the fish cleaning table along with 6 blackfin and 2 cobia! I’m waiting on pictures as we speak. The big fish are here in the delta and waiting….call us now we are open from here on out!
