192# yellowfin

We caught a break in the weather saturday and after catching our limit of snapper and a nice grouper we headed south a little ways and found nice green water and good marks on the sounder. started chunking and on our 5th drift we hooked up. I knew it was a good one as he made a 300 yard run towards the rig and then straight down. my buddy Hunter worked the rod like a pro and after an hour and 15 minutes and a straightened aftco gaff he was in the boat. after bleeding, gutting and gilling him and packing him in the fish bag I hooked it up and headed back to cypress cove. he weighed 192 on certified scales and probably would have gone 210-215 whole. my buddy capt Mike Ellis said I should have brought him in whole but I was concerned about getting him cooled down.

Definitely a cow if weighed at 192 lbs with gills & guts removed........it OFFICIAL. I would have done the same to keep the meat in prime condition. Congrats on your COW!!!

BTW, I'm surprised that graphite reel held up (Shimano TLD or Penn??)......

Good job on your fish Scott. You guys put the time in glad to see it payed off. I have just started using the Super Seeker rods and they are very impressive. I haven't had anyone catch anything over 130 so far on them. Shoot me the pictures and the rod info and I will send them to Joe at Seeker.
