Broken Kayak = 2 hours nite swim!

Hey guys,
check out the link. Dude's yak broke last night and he had to make a swim for shore. anybody know what kind of yak he had? at least he made it back!

Disregard the "fishing was good" part. My bad. stupid prefixes

Yea I saw that too. I am not sure I believe that line though. If it was an outrigger kayak the most common type is probably a hobie adventure island. I really can't imagine a hobie breaking . maybe it was a home built model???

What I meant is that I have gone solo at night as well.

Only differnce is I have a big ass lantern on a pole and all the right gear.

I've been wearing my Mustang Auto-Inflating PFD 100% of the time, everytime since I bought it 9 month ago..... and that's in a boat!

Not wearing one in a Yak................ is stupidity!


Shit can go wrong way to quickly when your on the H2O.
I don't want to leave my wife & kids like that.

From what I read he abandoned his vessel at 4 PM when it began sinking and then started swimming. He was found outside oceanside harbor at 9 PM. He wouldn't of been out at night if his rig didn't sink. But some safety gear wouldn't of hurt.
