Big Yakin Tribal Style

Well ive been wanting to paint my yak for a while now. After andy from oex sunset beach hooked me up with some repairs that i needed, and finally getting some free time. I went for it. I like darker colors but this is as dark as i could get myself to go, to not get my ass ran over out there. As you can tell in some of the shots it was factory mango originally. Im not an artist, but i gave it a try.

That looks like fun. You've got a custom kayak future ahead of you now. What kind of paint did you use and how durable is it? Mine is still pretty and new... cause I'm too lazy to haul it down the beach but its nice to know you can change it up a bit when it gets beat up. That a very nice looking yak.

thanx, yeah didnt realize how much mileage it actually had till i started painting it and saw all the scratches all over it,hahaha. its gonna keep ringing up the mileage."til the wheels fly off ' the bitch". I used plastic spray paint from home depot and finished it off with a couple of coats of clear protective spray. the last test i gave it was to run my finger nails down the side of it before i put the clear protective layer on ,and nothing came off, so far so good.
