This is probably on the wrong board but what the heck. Long story short. I take my boat out three or four times per month trying to get a yellowtail or Dorado for my seven year old son. All I want is a quality fish. Nada for me here in San Diego. I know, I must suck. So I took matters south of the border.

Stayed at the newest resort in San Jose Del Cabo called Cabo Azul. Awesome resort! They hooked us up with a boat and the rest is history. Totally proud of my boy. He handled his first decent sized fish like a pro. At least someone in the family can catch a fish.

As far as you " sucking " I think not, it appears as though you just checked off a first fish of the boy's list. Good on ya !

I bet the thrill of seeing your son with that fish was far better than getting your own anyway!

My son is 2 1/2 and he pulls on his spiderman fishing pole screaming "I'm Bit! I'm Bit!" I can't wait until the day I see him pull in something like that dorado.
