| Mex limits for 3 Amigos 6/15
Met up at Rick's house (fishseeker) , at 5am with Ron (hustler) for some fishing near the islands and south on Ricks boat.. Launched around 6 and off to get a scoop of horse dines. Motored south toward the 425. 1st paddy was dry. The next one held 3 yellows to 10 lbs. Water was 64 degrees
Motored around the area and got into a band of red tide . Tried 1 paddy in it, but it was ugly ugly water.
Motored some more and found another paddy holding 3 fish to 10 lbs. Water temp the same 63-64...
Decided to head to the 371 and stopped on a few dry paddies on the way. We saw a small mako cruising but left him alone.
Stopped on a very small paddy where we saw a boil. Got 5 fish, and Ron got 1 larger model around 20lbs. Rick lost a larger model as well. It took his bait and kept going down... He had 20 lb with floro. It busted off.
I believe in this area we also saw a swordie. Ron trieds to bait it, but as soon as we got within 30 feet, the fish high tailed it and we saw no sign of him.
Went to the hidden bank looking for kelp but no luck. Heading back to the 425 we found another large band of ugly red tide (I call it rust in a barrel).
Went back to the 425 area and hit some more paddie in the area we got the first fish and got a 2 each off some more kelps.
Near the got within 10 yards of a large whale and calf. That was a cool sight. Cruised through the middle grounds just to sniff around and it was dead. This was around 1:30. Decided to call it quirts wit h15 yellows.
Great day on the water. It was very flat and on occassion a little breeze.
Great to fish with Rick on his boat with Ron. Good times had by all.
To all of us Fathers out there-Happy Fathers Day.
And if you are lucky enough to have your Father around tell him you love him because you never know.....Life is truly short.
