Left DP about 3 and picked up a few smelt by throwing out
a bunch of bread crumbs and using a sabiki. Tried drifting the shallows by the buoys for nothing but leopard and angel sharks, good fight. I heard that these are good eating
but all c&r, the only inshore fish I keep are male wsb, butts and Yellowtail.
Anyhow, I tried a new technique (to me) of anchoring near some structure and fishing plastics off the bottom for butts-1 1/2 oz lead-head, 5 in, cast up current over sand, reel back very slow and blam, hook up. 3 butts all released, 26", 32" and 36".
Overall 3 small leopards, 2 angel sharks, 5 sand bass and 3 butts. Nice way to spend the afternoon, in at 7
