It was Lake Pacific last night, as flat and calm as could be. the night started slow with a lot more small Crabs than we usually see in the deep nets @ 85' and nothing in the shallow nets @ 32' on the first round.

The next set the Bugs started crawling into the shallow nets.

This Lobster was so hungry that he grabbed a Rockfish that was in the net and was about to munch him!!!

And the Big Spiders started crawling too...so we had another, as Aaron called it "witness relocation program". We held the big Spidees in the bow untill we made our move to the shallow nets and dumped them on the way !

Paul went home with a limit of nice size Lobsters!

Great catch. How can you be a Key grip and a gaffer when all good Key grips hate gaffers?
Dave, also a Key grip

Re: S&M Bay Crustacean Carnage 2-17

Thanks for the kudos folks, "thems is some good eats"!
DTF I sent you a PM...call me! I'll essplain it 2 U !!!
You have to be able to go over to the Dark Side!
Guy, Spiders are very edible. Aaron and Jason did take a few of the biggest and cleanest ones home.
I've found that if you're not going to keep them, then taking the biggest ones out of the area, means, you won't have to deal with them in every pull and rebait as often, along with the fact that they seem to chase out any potential Lobster or Rock Crabs catches too.

Wow, great catch guys! We used to load up on the rock crabs when we fished another buggin' spot - the areas we've been working this season don't really produce a lot of them though.
