A skunk that still stinks, SD bay report 1/18

5:30 Am, let my lab out to hit the trees while I hook up the boat, about 10 seconds later I hear a yelp and smell it. Way to start a fishing trip. Put dog in the back yard, tell wife not to let em in, and go I go fishing.

Report:
Met Johnny B. at SI ramp at 7:00 and headed out for a nice pick at the bass. Saw some outher BD's fishing near the ramp waiting for thier boat. Fishing could have been better, but worse too. 1st time we pre fished for the tourny, went well. Put my boat in a slip for the week for some weekday fishing. A nice day till I had to wash the dog.

Got some stuff at pet co that worked well. Surfdoc also gave a formula to use. Dog still smells a bit. Time for a dip in the ocean.

I'm surprised you are fishing so much Bobby! Good to have you back on the water. Let's hop on the Belle one of these days and go chase those Yellowtail they are getting. You should hop on that San Q trip we got going... Grab Jeremie and his skiff. Doesn't cost much and there will be a TON of us there. A room cost $15 per person a night...

bite on

Yeah, we need bigger fish for sure John. If not, Yellow Tail Pale Ale will have to sooth our poor souls. Jason, yeah, got the bug again. More time here and there and making the most out of it. SQ, will have to wait, but MB anytime.. Good luck down there. Bobby

So you in an inshore phaze right now? Like when we were fishing sandbass every week? Yellowtail are starting to chew. You ever done the islands Yellowtail on your boat? Can be super fun if you know how to get um.

islands

I think I have fished the pile more than the islands on this boat, have driven by them in the dark en route for tuna many of times though. I'm game to take a day off next week and hunt for Yellowtail. They may not get smacked so hard next weekend due to the tourney. Tues, Th, or Friday is best for me. Be quick on the draw if you go on the belle. Boby
