'Killer-nice work on a couple of nice flatties. We've never tried SD bay before, and are thinking of trying it out. Do you mind telling us the general area you fished for those 'buts? Thanks.

all fish were caught on sardines, 3oz egg + bead+swivel+ 30#leader,yes thats correct 30#leader, trap rigged. the trap rig got the 15#er! we use 30# because we've caught 20 and 30+# halis at this spot and we are protein hunting, light drag but not too light. I've used 40# and got fish no problem, when they are chewing they are stupid. depth 20 -45 ft.
aaron & julie, You know I cant get too specific or my crew will mutiny, however, we fish areas that drop off quick, we choose our spots depending on which way the tide and wind are working, sometimes were dragging up the slope other times down. we like to fish the front of the bay more, cuz we like to eat them more than once a month, if you know what I mean. |
