| 4/28 Friday LJ Kelp - Slow Day - Cold green water
Buoy reports were showing 4-5 swells out of Mission Bay, but the swells were fine and it was pretty flat out by LJ. Water was green and cold around 56 degrees. Too cold for WSB & Yellowtail.
We were on the water from 9 am - 1:30pm
It was tough, could not catch anything, my buddy & I tried many spots and and we got a few macks for fun on the sabiki. We saw a few other boats and kayakers, but did not see anyone catch anything.
On the water, I talked with a kayaker and he said its been tough the last week and very difficult to make bait. There tons of smelt in the water, but very few macks biting.
Eventhough the fishing was slow, it was a nice day to get out on the water for a boat ride and it was good to see the boat was running well.
Once the water warms up, it should be great!
