Lj 9-21

Just back from Minnesota for 2 weeks for a family/fishin reunion and wanted to run the boat. Man, is Northern Minnesota awesome in the fall. Left those Yellowfin bitin and just wanted to get back on the big lake. Took a cruz up to South kelp for some macs, then whatever. Tried for some macs for a few minutes in the green water (much different from when I left) when I saw the birds doin their thing and a little whitewater underneath.
Jammed to the spot and saw some nice tails cruz by, huck the iron and get a follow to the boat on the Tady. Second cast, same deal except this one follows for 30 feet and inhale's my jig 10 feet from the boat! Very nice way to get back in the game. Hell, I was only there for 15 minutes! Lotsa bull kelp and he gets me wrapped on my 20 lb Muskie stick.
I tried every angle and was able to finally get him out after 10 minutes. Nice to be back! Sunset from My Dad's. and a lil love from lj!

Classic "dine and dash" La Jolla trip. Glad you kept the kelp too.
A good taxidermist should be able to get it all stuffed and mounted for you in about two weeks.

Minnesota IS awesome as it so happens. Spent all day yesterday goin for some muskies in the St. Louis and harbor of Superior. No dice. Two pike ~24'' but some excitement.

Trolling then all at once, WHAM, the pole bends excessively and rips the holder to face the back of the boat. Drag goes out, and keeps going. Huge pig? Well while working it to the boat it didn't fight much. Turned out I snagged a 20lb sturgeon in the back.

Shesh, is everyone from Minnesota?? I was born in St. Cloud. My parents meved to FL when I was one though and unfortunately I've never been back. My brothers tell me never to go there because I'll never leave!!

One of these day I'm gonna go...

I went to St.Cloud State, moved to San Diego in 89. When you go back, go in the Summer/fall. The winters are Brutal. I hope to spend more time there in the future.
