Jammed out to La Jolla on Calafia for some fish taco filler material. Was slow, but managed 2 reds and a copper at some old numbers in south LJ right off the kelp line. Couldn't get anything to go on artificials, but pin-sized deans and frozen squid did the trick.
Water temp was about 60 degrees.
Pulled up to the north Mission jetty on the way back in and nailed a decent sized calico on a yellow spinner.
Was met at the ramp by Mr. DFG man. Checked out my catch, scoped out a few alternate hidey holes on the boat, then bid me good afternoon.
Scrubbed up with De-Fishing Soap to kill the squidly smell.
De-Fishing Soap Hey, someone ought to start a magazine with this thread title. Fish Taco Chronicles is kinda catchy.
