They've recovered them as far as 140 miles from where they were released... so far. Cedros is about 280 miles from San Diego... if I remember right. That might be pushing it. Still, wouldn't it be interesting if it was one of theirs??

They're pretty desperate to get them. I would think they might want to take a look at it anyway, just in case!!

Fantastic write-up! It was one heckuva tour. Pam says it all, this program is a great success because of all the wonderful volunteers up and down the coast. If you live near Newport Beach, I can always use an extra hand out at the pens during the summer months...I'll share some of my shots...I tend the pens in Newport Harbor daily when we have fish. We may have our first delivery as soon as April.

What I took away from the tour was the fact that not nearly enough private boaters are turning in their Seabass heads...Please, we need to know where these fish are going...If you don't know where to turn in your Seabass heads, e-mail me...ponnayiii@yahoo.com, I'll make the arangements...

Really great report! I remember when we started the feeding program in Dana Point
pens years ago. It's really paid dividends in rebuilding the fisherie. Nice Pics!

HSWRI - Volunteers
And another great way to help is volunteer for United Anglers of Southern California. We can use folks at the upcoming Fred Hall shows in our booths signing up new members. You can pick the hours/days, and any time spent is very welcome! UASC is a big supporter of this program and of our right to fish!

Call and ask for Victor on (949) 863-9447 I'll be in the booth at the Long Beach show Sat. and Sun mornings, come say hi and give me a BD
Oh, and become a member and get into the FH show free!

On a sad note, Dr. Clark Hubbs passed away this month. His legacy lives on in all of those fish and our hearts.

Thanks for the add-on George!

I'll be helping in the UASC Booth at the Fred Hall show over the weekend for sure, too! You need to look for their booth outside to get the free admission. Every year a few people come up to the booth inside and want to know if they can get a refund on their admission if they join. You HAVE to visit the booth Outside the show, join UASC, and THEN you get a ticket!! Plus you can write off you membership dues on your taxes!

Hey all, keep the heads and turn them in. The hatchery needs the info. They will work with you so you can keep the stones.

The white seabass are starting to bite.... please try to turn in your WSB heads to a collection station!! It's really helpful to their research and helps them verify whether the efforts are paying off... whether any of these fish are surviving...!

Thanks!
