Solo Bay Yakin 02/02/08

I couldn't get the wingman to go fishing with me (something about little league tryouts).....whatever. I keep telling him he can't try out for little league any more. He is too big to play with the other kids.

Anyway......I paddled out to a slight morning wind and kind of cold conditions. I was hoping for the calm before the storm. The idea was to target the spotties and hali's on gulp baits. The plan turned out well. I paddled over to the NI side of the bay and began to cast the gulp. 1st cast and bingo the 1st spottie of the day. I started to get spotties on every other cast. They were thick in the hole I had found. I fished that spot for about an hour putting holes in the lips of just about evry fish there.

I decided to move and look for the hali's. I fished an area I thought would work and managed one hali that went 21 inches. Oh well ...... next time it will be bigger.

I headed back across the bay and finished off with a few more spotties and a couple of nice sandies. I was back on the beach and headed home by 10:30.

Finished a good stoagie and caught a lot of fish. Not a bad morning on the water.

FISH COUNT:

17 spotties (12 to 15 in)
1 Hali (21 inch)
4 Sandies (15 to 17 in)

That's it....all C&Red
