| Oside Flattie Report 12/29
Fished today with Scarleg and Locobro in a poobah tourney with the dreaded Shitbird team. Launched at 7:00 and worked some spots north for a few shorts in the morning.
Met up with the Shitbird crew about 9:00. Fish is a fish had a bloody towel, they were dancing some strange jig, chanting they had a door mat! The poobah game was on. Handed off some fresh breaky burritos Scarleg made and pounded some more sand hoping for redemption with no joy from the fishies.
Shitbird bbq'd portabella mushroom burgers with all of the fixin's and called us in at about 12:30. It was most excellent.
Time was not on our side and they clearly had a nice fish so we headed north to pound some more sand and hope for one good biter. We got it at 2:00. Locobro did a fine job and she hit the deck to high fives.
The only question that remained was if she was poobah worthy and it was not looking good.
Met up at the homestead for the weigh in. Mark's (locobro) fish went just over 15 lbs, his personal best. Shitbirds team showed up with their cooler and flashed a big tail at a distance.
It was a great day on the water with old and new friends.

DaGoose and Scarleg, thanks for the invite, I had a blast. You guys do it right, that’s all I gotta say. I hardly missed the standard four to eight hour-sleep deprived-bumpy-cold ass-ride to the offshore fishing grounds at all  . Great food, lots of laughs, fish and frosty ones. There may be something to this halibut fishing. Impressive mind games well played by Shitbird and Fish-is-a-fish kept us under pressure all day long. In the end, Rick saved the day and put us on the fish. The technique taught was solid, all the way down to the crop-dusting. Seriously, you guys personify the best part of fishing.
