LJ kelp 7/5

fished the kelp on Monday with my buddy Thad on his 14' gregor.
we slow trolled for a couple calico's and eventually tied up to some kelp and had a wfo calico and slimey bite for 3 hours. C&R all day. The Dolphin seen us killin'em and tried to slide up but we were about 100 yards inside the rim fishing the pockets. The guys fishing her started to pull'em in as well.
The calico's really starting to chew around 3:30pm till 7.
wind was up and then laid down for us on the way in.
a far cry from the 4th when it was fucking beautiful.

all in all a great day on the kelp

Cool - I like fishing kelp,
anchor, shut down the engines,
and not have to pay attention to the boat
-just fish!

saw you out there i was on the dolp and we slipped anchor thats why we got so close sorry about that that captain was actually pissed at himself but shit happens. i ended up catching and releasing almost 25 calicos. and slimmers
