| Local butt report for 11-26-07
Had to take care of some finacial stuff yesterday but I did have a bit of time left so I decidied to take the boat out and get myself fired up to do some slow trolling before this Thursday's halibut seminar. Got some good halibut info from a couple harbor halibut fisherman at the shop Sat and I put it to good use (thanks guys). Unfortunetly when I got the boat in the water I found my GPS antena had died as I couldn't get a signal. D^%^&!!! . Wasn't going to be able to fish the structure spots now as I couldn't find them without the GPS and it was going to be hard to stay on any good spots of fish as I couldn't mark their locations now. Had to use plan "B". Blind trolling. Blind trolled the clean green water in 45 to 55'. Lots of bait balls to fish under. Managed the 34", 28" and a 26"'er and had one snap my 30# spectra (must have been a fraid spot) and had the hook pull on two other nice one's. All the action happend in about 2 to 4 hrs in an area I rarley fish. Left them biting as I had to get home to care of some honey do's so I could relax and watch the Steeler game in peace !!. Also, all the fish where caught on BIG deins. Cant wait to get out again and pound some sand.
Tight lines,
Behdad

How do you rig for flatties, Sandman?
If bouncing, do you use a flasher and jig? The times I have tried bounce-balling, I don't think I did it right, and would have a tangled mess to deal with.

John,
I tried it once and got a tangled mess as well. If you are using a dodger I think you have to let it sink slowly while idling forward. If you let it drop straight down you will wind up with a tangled mess.
