Hit The North Bay in the mini-X Thursday.
Water looked great until I got to the kelp line then it turned a deep burgundy brownish red. I've never seen a cold water red tide before but the water was a deep wine red even though it was only 56 degrees.
Worked outside to 90 feet hoping to get outside of it but no go. It all looked like the same brown/red soup. Picked up some macks out there that were balling bait but couldn't find anything worth keeping.
Finally came back in and made a few drifts between and around the kelp.
Soaked some macks, tossed some plastics, scratched up some short sandies but that was it.
Beautiful day.... I fished till dark in shorts and a T shirt. Couldn't ask for a nicer day in November.
Landing was a breeze due to the lack of one...

Very flat coming in with almost no wind and very little swell. I didn't even stow my gear.
Nothing to write home about but I did have a good time and everything worked great on the mini-x gear wise (my first trip with electronics) so I can't complain.
As always....just good to be on the water.
