So I went out with my buddy Bill (of Wianuinui Charters) an expert guide and gaffman. http://www.bloodydecks.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=73348&stc=1&d=1188146927 (an earlier pic of him and his boat) He took me to his semi-secret spot (somewhere in the pacific near San Diego) and I got lucky with this big ol' white sea bass. To top it off, we went back to his house where he showed off his new filleting technique.

One of the guys (not fish and game, but with an official shirt) at the boat launch (shelter Island) had scale that went to fifty and it was over that, I think maybe about 60lbs.
