1st "Children of the Troops" Charter a great success!!!

The 1st "Children of the Troops" Charter was a great success thanks to the San Diego Rod & Reel Club, The Friends of Rollo, The SeaWatch & Seaforth Sportfishing. With a special thanks to the Friend of Rollo for donating this particular trip. We really appreciate the support.

We ended up taking 28 kids of active military families on a 1/2 day fishing trip on Feb 25th aboard the SeaWatch. These are kids who's parent(s) may be overseas, or just not able to afford to take their kids fishing. And this is our club's way of saying "Thank you" for your service and doing a job that allows us the freedoms of the fishing life style we have.

The weather cooperated, the crew was great, & the kids rocked the fish counts. They outfished the other 1/2 day boats about 10 to 1.

These trips are possible with the support of local groups like the Friends of Rollo & the anglers we get fishing our "Big Fish Tournament" every August. Even though we give some big $$$ cash prizes, we still have enough left over to be able to do a few of these trips a year.

We would love to see you fish the next "Big Fish Tourney", because the more of you that fish, the more kids we can take fishing.

Papa "J",

I wanted to take a mintue and thank you for what you are doing for these kids and families of the military. Having been in the military for the past 25 years, I don't see whole lot of this type of support. All of the military members I know don't serve for the money, military discounts, or even thank yous. We serve to defend our great nation. However, I am sure every kid and military family is very greatful. Again, thank you and your group for the Outstanding support!

S/F

Mike

Absolutly AWESOME!!! Nothing like seeing the kids smiles when they are dealing with the absence of a parent. This is what makes us the greatest country in the world. WTG!!!

Re: 1st "Children of the Troops" Charter a great success!!!

Thanks for all the props...

If anyone is interested in doing stuff like this I would suggest coming down to the Bali Hai this Thursday starting at 7pm will be our annual swap meet. You can learn more about the club & the different events we do through out the year.

Plus if your Active Military it is free to join the club for 2007.

Some more pics.
