| Lobster Poachers at Catalina
Boat partner Wayne and I were at Cat. Fri till Sun.Thought we would do some diving and hooping that didn't happen as expected a whole other story. Wayne if you see this we should of had breakfast Fri.
To the Poachers Sat. night we were coming from the west inside towards The Isthmus for the night and I see a 26-28 Skipjack with a line of hoops in the area that is closed for lobsters from Arrow Pt. to Lions Head. So I tell Wayne drive us in tight I going to the bow to chat with these Idiots. We get right on them and we can see a freshed pulled hoop full of bugs on the deck and a 50 gallon plastic trash can red with bugs. I asked these guys 6 on deck working I think 2 girls below what the hell they were doing? told them they where hooping in a closed area then the guy starts with no it isn"t and want me to read his reg. book to him I said no take my word this place is closed and been so for 10 years or so. I tell him to dump the bugs and they look up like they wanted to cry.He then tells me they don't have any shorts(This time I think) They started to dump I told them the holding can also if they got them here. Then I called Cal Tip with cf'#s discription of boat an occupants then off to the Isthmus for a great Sat night with family and friends.
