| Oside flattie report 3/14
Launched my Skippy at 7:00am in Oside accompanied by wifey and two kids of my in-laws friends (I say kids……..early twenties, man I’m feeling old these days). The Skippy really needed to stretch her legs after sitting idle longer than I care to admit. The trip was really about running the boat more than anything. I got to play fishing guide but it’s all good.
Dropped the lines in an hour later. Got a short about 2 hours later. Then had a 24 inch fish to color a few minutes later but the guide put a headshot on it and she bounced off to parts unknown. Later I learned this was his second fish ever. Arghhhhhhhh.
Nothing else until about noon then a bit of a flurry. One decent legal at about 9lbs. Four more shorts and a rattlesnake. Depths were 60-75 feet. Called it quits at 2:30. At least the boys had a flattie to take home.
Tides were all wrong today. No high until late. Water temps at 61. Same stained dirty green color as several weeks ago. Nice and flat in the am. Some wind chop beating into it on the way home. The sun never came out. Not bad though for March.
This was the first time I towed the Skippy with the new Ford 6.0 diesel. Damn I love that truck. Handled it like a champ.
It was another good day on the water pounding sand.
Tight Lines All,
DaGoose
