Long night with good friends and new friends

Spent last night on SD bay looking for the bugs - Had my usual partner Steve and had another good friend Kenny along. It was a very slow night as most of the posts I've seen would suggest. We managed 7 good to very good (3 lb) critters. The highlight of the evening was meeting up with Arnie (Afry) & his wife (I'm terrible with names sometimes!) - anyway a great time was had BS'ing and I didn't even mind that Arnie outdid us with his buggin' skills!

No pics this time - I was freezing my ass off and we didn't really have anything exceptionally camera worthy.

Nope - based on the hole in the string of nets, it's pretty safe to assume that it was picked up by a boat prop - probably a real pissed off guy getting all that rope off his outdrive - sorta my fault since I was having a good time and didn't really consider 10' of surface flooating rope at slack tide.
We came in with 9 nets - no biggie since it wasn't one of our new ones and I have a spare net to use until we can replace the lost one.

Re: Long night with good friends and new friends

Well guess what I found this New Years morning... one bad ass hoop net.
I was leaving the Med and heading to the ramp and saw a float in the channel about 100 yards from my new slip (A dock end tie now). So I pulled it as it was a nav hazard and up came a Bottomline home made special just like the one you showed me Sat night. It was buried in the mud and a MFer to pull up in 15' of water. Small world...I bet it was dragged there by one of those dinner cruisers cause all 60' of your line and float is still attached, made a muddy mess in the cat though. I just got home and and will PM you for pick up.

Christie and I had a great time and if you ever forget her name just look at the back of the Christie Ann that's what I do. Those buggin skills came from you Steve, thanks!

Re: Long night with good friends and new friends

Wow! Thanks Arnie (and CHRISTIE)!
Darned net had to have been there since Saturday - strange that nobody found it earlier. Looks like we're headed to Ramona shortly!
