Hope you get one someday, Squid is definately the way to go. I've baited two swords on squid. Use a long steel leader with 2 or three hooks crimped on. You need the bait pre rigged and sittiing on ice , ready to use .

2 speed? Ya I was sayin that to Frank, if we get on this we are gonna be here a while. A loooooooooooooooong while.

Thanks for the tip on the 99 store. I forget they might carry those bigger ones. Be easy to keep one rigged and on ice.

I was wishing I had a Two Speed. I was a young , broke deckhand with a 15 year old wore out Int 50 on the wrong rod wich was basicly a rock cod stick. The reel seat came loose on the rod and was twisting back and forth. No harness. Lame as rod belt. Little or no aid from the other guy on board with me, other than him laughing every time i got pinned to the rail and the fish takes me down to 1/4 spool, again.

Re: Shot at a BIG swordie today

I'm back fuggers! What the heck do I know about them? I've seen one.

ONCE.

Even drove around the thing for almost an hour. My buddy did get in the water and get a glimpse of it. Those things are awsome.

I've got some ideas but I'm not sharing. Not with YOU guys anyway.
