sorry for the no pics... lost digital camera ....
fished sat. out of oside. Launched around 5:30AM went straight
to the domes.. little bumpy...
used 20lb test with floura, and another rig with 30lb & trap rig for the halis...
ended up fishing with the trap rig about 35ft directly in front of the domes...
somethin kept bumpin my line, thought it was a hali.... set the hook bill dance style and bam....thought it was my first hali... was dreamin of postin a pic like DA GOOSE...., low n behold it was a crab straight out of beetlejuice...
it wieghed about 20lbs... biggest/ugliest thing I've ever seen... 8 legs, dome shaped head with scissor like teeth...claws that were as big as my hand.... with a ton of parasites... netted it, threw it back.. what the hell was that?
Then moved a little south... bamm another fish on I thought.....then pulled up another crab... smaller in the 5lb range but reallll red.. threw it back..
not a crab fan, but I'm sure some of you out would of kept them?
caught a few bass, calico's & sandi's... saw some nice boils...weather started to flattin out a bit, so went straight out on the180-240 header about 7-miles... found nadda, not even a floating stringer of kelp, nothing...
headed in towards the harbor... didn't see to many fishies... except for some shark reports... big ones too...
screw this local stuff.. .headed out on the new loann June 26th.. .yeah!:bablefish
