Sorry for the late report, I've been super busy and I had some technical issues downloading the pics this past weekend.
Went back out to Santa Rosa Island this weekend with Kevin “surfvolcom77” and Michael “RodRappa” aboard the “Big Drum”. The sea conditions and weather were absolutely spectacular. By mid-day the temperature and fishing got so hot that we had to take off T-shirts to stay somewhat comfortable pulling in all the fish.
We started the morning fishing for about a half an hour for Halibut, but only got one 60lb Bat Ray for our efforts. We got antsy to go instant bendo, so we moved to another area to do some shallow water Rockfishing.
The Rockfish, Lingcod, Sheephead, Whitefish and Calico Bass were on a good chew all day long. Once we arrived it was instant BENDO!!
Here’s Kevin going BENDO!

Kevin with one of the many Blue Rockfish we caught and released.
Here is a picture of one of the four Copper Rockfish that we caught that was tagged. We measured the fish, wrote down the tag numbers, telephone number and then released them to swim another day. There sure was a lot of growth on those tags. Maybe we’ll get a DFG Tagging T-shirt for calling in the data.

The Calico Bass definitely went on good afternoon chew.
Had another awesome day fishing out on the big pond. Can’t wait to get back out there.
Till next tide,
