HB local report 5/13

took the boat out for the afternoon today. picked up a very large half scoop of perfect chovies from bills, then headed south for the pipe. got there to find the western pride and nautilus there also. anchored up in 50 feet of water. first drop was an instant bendo. feel head shakes and bring up a nice 25" halibut. first legal on the new boat. released him to get bigger. after that the damn tom cod took over. every spot on the pipe we tried was infested with them. decided to make a run make up north to near the oil platforms. fished in about 40 feet of water. it was slow at first, and just as im walking up to the bridge my dad gets bit and ends up being a nice sandie. decided to stick it out a little longer. i drop down and instant bendo on a sandie. for the next hour 15 minutes it was WFO on the sandies. avrage size was about 14-15" with one one short out of all the fish. largest fish went about 3.5 maybe 4. water temp was anywhere from 62.1 to 63.4 and was pretty clean too. conditions are look like the sandies and cuda could show up anyday. o ya also heard on the radio that someone got a thresher 4 miles off salt creek and another guy got one 4 miles of DP. i guess they went off pretty good in the afternoon, but lots of people farmed fish. can anyone confirm this?

Re: HB local report 5/13

We caught and released a T-shark off San Mateo Pt. yesterday and another person I know caught one off Salt Creek yesterday.
