| SD Bay 4/29
Real good incoming tidal swing of about 5' total from 4:30 to 11:30 AM today.
Took the daughter & her boyfriend out (kind of newbies so i wanted to make sure they caught some stuff, no matter what).
Got into the water about 7:30 and went to EB to see if they had any chovies. No go on them, but no worries I had purchased a few bags of the new Gulp.
We had the smelt flavor (looked like a small 3" smelt), an even smaller 2" grub they call "watermelon" (smelled real stanky)...
Bottom line the fish were on the chew. We fished 6 to 12# test with 1/2 once leadheads.
Caught about 20 spotties up to 2#, 2 runt butts, 1 3# yellowfin croaker, and about 6 fairly nice sandies.
We fished some of the day in the main channel drifting past the degausser.
The last part of the day we were on the coronado side of SD bay, south of where the carriers dock.
Real nice day, the kids caught fish, however the bite shut off at slack tide and the wind picked up a little, so we called it a day at 1PM. Cool, was able to get the boat back to the house & all cleaned, etc by 3:30 (just in time for a nap fro the old man!)

PS the more I use the Gulp, the more I like it. Probably spent $15 on the Gulp vs $30 bait. However, if they had chovies I would have also 1/2 scoop, since they do real well with the light tackle in the bay
