La Jolla in a Float Tube

FIrst time poster, long time lurker... Well, I read papers that guys in kayaks were catching big tunas in the kelp, so I got my float tube together, and kicked out passed the yellowbuoy. It is a faaaaaar kick... Started casting irons towards the paddys, I know this is what I have heard is done on long range boats. Fish weren't cooperating, kelp snags were.

Decided to throw out some live lizard fish I made.... Caught this juvenile C-Bass... pretty stoked! It was kind of scary out there in my tube, heard of a shark lurking in past days, kicked in and had a coor light! Sweet Day, not sure how the other fellow boaters did.

When I landed, saw one of the famous Kayakers going out, I think it was catchfish, or Icedude. Pretty cool, hope to save up for a kayak.

Tight lines!

FRO

Re: La Jolla in a Float Tube

I definitly wouldn't go out there in a float tube again if I was you..... there has been a couple great white's spotted by fellow yaker's the last couple days... unless you want to become shark bait I suggest getting yourslef a yak before you decide to go to LJ again.....

Just thought I'd give you a heads up....

Re: La Jolla in a Float Tube

I tubed Salsipuedes Mexico's kelp once. It's really creepy dangling your lower half in that stuff. I've even had sealions bump my kayak. I can easily say that I would never tube open water again...

Oh yeah, we don't care much for the pictures of guys on the beach. Hot chicks on the other hand are perfectly acceptable and even desired...

But welcome nonetheless. And definitely post up pictures of those TUNA when you get one in the LJ kelp!
