Al - FIT TO BE BIT Wins Izorline Knot Tying Contest

So I entered Izorlines knot tying contest this week at the Fred Hall show in Long Beach.
I entered in the Media division since I'm co-author of the "It's A Keeper" GPS Fish Finding Guide of Southern California.
On Wednesday night I tied #135Lb which broke at 202.5.
This turned out to be the strongest knot of the entire week at the show.
Today I tied in the finals. I tied #135Lb again which broke at 195.
This turned out to be the the strongest knot in any division of the finals.
All I can say is, what a trip!
Thats my story,
Al Schneider

What knot did you tie?

Seems like the double San Diego is usually one of the best at Day at the Docks.

WTG!!

way to go! I led for a few hours on Wednesday on the 60lb. knot held great, line broke about 2" below the knot (double San Diego) 89.5 lbs.. Guess Chris is right, its whoever gets the best 3' of line.

Re: Al - FIT TO BE BIT Wins Izorline Knot Tying Contest

Hi there FIT TO BE BIT,

Congrats on the tying win! I went and witnessed the deed!

That little girl was something else! I'm wondering if she is the one that has won a number of times in the last few years!

Re: Al - FIT TO BE BIT Wins Izorline Knot Tying Contest

No cross overs. Keep the knot wet & loose. Do not sinch it down real tight.
It will do that on it's own under pressure.
