SD BAY 12/21 Reptiles and Samurai

Launched at 8am, baited up at Cimmeron. Not much tide movement and glassy until 1pm. Fished by the helipad and buoy 22 for a limit of turds. Dropper loop 24" up and 1oz lead.
Set a personal record for poptart sized 'butts 16 of the little shits. All in less than 30'. No love on the keepers.
What was REALLY annoying was the abundance of Lizardfish. They're everywhere! I musta sacrificed 1/2 my bait to those reptiles.
The ramp at SI was busy with anything that floats, Guys loading up with boards to go surf the swell we have going. Shortboards, longboards, boogieboards (didn't see any paipos though),jetskis, surfyaks. Reminded me of Samurai worriors, freakin fearless.
Something I've never seen before, waves breaking at the end of Zuniga and peeling towards Coronado! Ralphs was breaking way inside, past 2nd notch.
The swell was affecting the surge at SI ramp. I put the boat in, climbed in tried to back off and the water just LEFT. Had to get back out, sink the trailer deeper, climb back in and back the boat off. Strange shit.

Great you got out Jay. Did you know there is a limit on Lizardfish!
I'll probably join the Samurai floatilla on Friday & Monday.
Suppose to stay at least head high till New Years.

Sounds like a good way to spend a weds not working. Give me a holler sometime down the road and we'll to have drop a few lines in the water. The surf stuff sounds quite out of the norm...Kurt told me today that it's some big stuff.
