took a couple of non fisher friends out to the front side of the island. stopped near whites cove for a nice calico bite. Drifting by the kelp bed produced a bite or two every time. The wind was blowing pretty good, so we only got a brief shot at them before we had to reset the drift. fishing live squirts we carried in from Nacho.
about 9 ish, my buds rod get's slammed. I told him he's snagged on the bottom... heh, what the hell do I know. he proved me wrong by pulling up a firecracker yellow... being that it's his first one... we opt to keep it.
had a couple of big hit/misses... mystery fish.
crossing back was miserable. wind chop. took about 2+ hours to get back.
fun, but tiring day...
