after 3 days of fishing shaws cove in laguna we finally have something worth reporting. we got to the beach around 630 everyday. low tide helped and made it easy to fish from the exposed rocks...
day one swell was small and it produced some sandies. all fishing was with mussels. cant catch live bait. which sucks cause we may be able to get a flattie with live bait. but oh well out of there at 830 when the tide started to rise

day 2 the swell picked up and produced one nice corbina/juvie wsb/corvina (is that getting old?) ill stop i got the big stripe that day i fished with dead squid the whole day. the corbina was caught on mussel on the last cast of the day out of there at 830
day 3 1 of my most fun days fishing fished a while for nada my bro got a nice corbina on the mussel. then i said screw it i put on a squid head tossed it out let it sit for about 10 min then noticed i was starting to get picked up. gave it a few sec. and swing and connection

as soon as i hooked it i knew it was a solid fish. i though it was a hali cause of the slow calm pick up then it started peeling off line and wasnt stoppin so i thought i dont know if halibut that big come round here so probably a ray
well this thing didnt stop for anything it ran and took about half my 15# on my abu garcia. turned its head but it was by no means done. got about 50 yrds back and he took off again and took more than i got back. 15 min later i got him to color. and unfortuanatly i saw it was a ray but i was praying for a butt.got him out of the cabbage and set him on his way. it was about 15 lbs and 3 1/2' wing span..
hooked back up and put on another chunk of squid and i saw it got picked up again. same deal as the last one set the hook. then makes and initial run and it wasnt as big as the last one but was pullin line. im like yessss halibutt!!!!!!! nope :FU: fing ray again jumped clear out of the H20 (which was cool) go him in took a pic and let him go. fight was short but fun.
my bro then got picked up set it and it started peeling off line on his 6# about 30 yrds in its run it spit the hook. next cast he got a small sandie.
1 shitty day and 2 great days of fishing and done by 900 and everything released. last day of fishing b4 i get out to yosemite for some trout hopefully. i have some preety awsome pics but when i try to load them the screen just turns white and doesnt do anything can anyone help with that?
