Put in a 12 hour day at La Jolla on the yak. Decent surf and good swell in the morning. Bait plentiful. First fish was an 8lb bonita. Couple baits shredded as well.
Downer of the day when some a-hole in a twin outboard runs right at me and ignores my waving that I have lines out. Sure enough, the top bait is snagged. I'm yelling and pointing at my line but the douchebag in the stern of the boat just looks at me like I'm nuts. Finally managed to break the line. I take solace in knowing the moron has 300yds of spectra wrapped around his prop. :FU: :FU:
Later the top bait, a smelt, gets hit hard. Half a spool taken before I get up speed. Finally get over top of it and feel the thump-thump of a yellow. Large freighter bearing down on me but the Capt kindly vectors well away (Thanks Capt). Result: 21.2 yellowtail in the boat.
