Did they tell you what the proposed plans they are considering and where we can find these options they are considering?
The reason I ask is that Marcus put some options that he said the DFG was considering and did not state where he got the information from. I checked the web site, but couldn't find them (which is not suprising, I can barely find fish limits on that confusing site they have. So I'm not say they're not posted, I just can't find them).

I tell you if they limit my boat to 6 hoopnets it will be tough as hell to get limits for 2 guys its already tough enough even when theres a good crawl going, and if they used our lobster report card info to screw us then they are not going to get any info from me other than what i have to fill out on the card, that would include the survey guys who i have been volunteering info to for years.maybe we should start telling them i caught nothing absolutely nothing

If anyone out there thinks DFG is looking out for the fisherman, your a fool. All of government is a agency that needs to eat. It is a shark and will eat anything it can to survive. I worked for them. The commercial guys are hurting. The fish stores have dropped the price for buying lobster, But the restaurants and fish stores still charge a the same when they sell lobster. This economy will not turn around soon with government controlling things. Tha is what government does.

They have not seen a drop off in reproduction of lobster, and at this time their first response is not to limit the overall take by recreational anglers. Much of the reasoning behind this is the knowledge that there are many new illegal commercial operations being run using hoopnets. Expect more rigid enforcement on the rules regarding cards and gear.
For every one of us who does only moderately well with hoop gear, there is someone out there who has mastered it, and is abusing the resource. This means going well beyond just getting an easy limit every once in a while. WAY beyond that.
