For someone that claims to be so smart, you missed the entire point of that post. Read it again and figure it out. If you can't, I'll explain it to you in more basic terms.
Also, you just don't go down there and grab them. It's not that easy, lobsters are very fast, however you would know nothing about that either. | Please don't make assumptions. It makes you look stupid. I'm not anti-divers, as I also like to free dive on occasion. I'm just anti-divers that feel they don't have to keep their distance from a hoopnetter that has already established a fishing area.

Poor you for having to carry all your gear down a cliff. If it's to much work for you quit doing it or leave your air tank and other crap at home and free dive for them. All this diver talk about conicals being an unfair advantage and the poor divers having to go look for new spots cuz "their" old ones have some hoopers on them. Cry me a $@#^& river. No body forced you guys to by dive gear to get lobsters just like nobody forced us to by hoopin gear. We've got the same right to be on the spot as you. So what if you have a couple g's invested in dive gear, we've got thousands invested in our boats and hoop nets as well. You drag your gear down a cliff, thats your choice. We tow our boats to the nearest launch ramp, pay our launch fee's and have to pull ropes all night so we pay our dues as well so stop the bitchen and moaning. Shit when I started hoopin a couple years ago I had no spots and would hoop from 6pm untill 6am the next morning for one or two lobster. I never blaimed the divers or commercials for not catching many, I just worked harder and found new spots and now I can get some pretty good limits with just a little effort. Suck it up and act like a real fucking fisherman and just work harder. All this finger pointing is bullshit !!!!

Why lie about living in Santee? You might as well lie about living in Del Mar or La Jolla. Do you rent in Nester or soemthing? Maybe El Centro? WTF? Also, stop using run-on sentences. FYI, that's a sentence in which two or more independent clauses (that is, complete sentences) are joined with no punctuation or conjunction.

This diver verses hooper thing always cracks me up! Its like a bad made for TV movie. As long as two groups of people compete for the same resource, tempers are going to flare, people get there panties in a bunch. Its like a long running fued between the Hatfields and McCoys!
Gathering from what I have read here on BD, and this to point out how comical these arguments area
All divers steal from traps, them sneaky sum bitches wait until the traps are out and then bee line straight to them, easy pickings and limits. Screw the Hoop netters, I'm diving here and this ocean is mine.
Hoop netters are all paranoid crack head drunks. They will leave all there gear unattended and run back to the other side of the bay to score some more crack or Uzzo or whatever, run back to where they thought they dropped there traps and throw seal bombs at anyone who comes too close by there drug induced rage state. Lights on a boat? I do it stealthy style to hide my honey holes. Scream that my nets were stolen when they cant be found (later to find out the CG removed them for sitting unattended for so long) and blame everyone else.
As it seems we cannot get along and will never agree, Coming down the line in the future will be harbors setting up areas like Ventura did, one area for divers, one for hoopnetters. Will it be fair? No, but keep it up children, just dont get too upset when daddy pulls the car over and whoops you and your brothers ass on the side of the road.
