07-09 Nados/Point Loma kelp, fish report.

Hit the middle grounds at about 0600.. No life there at all, water was 60, cold and ugly…. drifted for a few, slow trolled, fished deep, tried everything and nada…. Hit the lee side, tried the same and nothing.. South kelp was infested with little Cudas, all you wanted released them all….

At noon we grilled some burgers for lunch back at the south lee side… Hit the middle grounds again and no one home… Decided to hit the flats, and again small Cudas all over the place…. At 2pm headed to Point Loma kelps and, boy!!!!! That saved the day…. WIDE OPEN ON NICE CALICOS….. You’ll see the charter boats… Calicos are on the chew!!! Hope this helps, time to go long..
