Rpt :7-2 Santa Cruz Island TOAD

I caught this toad up on the west end on a half live mackrel and a 25knt breeze. We had to work hard for this one, with the wind and seals making things challenging we were able to connect with a nice fish.We thought it was a seal a first, but when it didn't come up for air we knew it was a good one. Fish weighed 41lbs.

Nice fish Matt!

Seems as though the fish are starting to ween themselves off the squid and getting more keyed in on the fin bait.

Your crushing them this year!

I think it just depends on where you are, there has been tons of fin bait at Cruz this year and lots of squid at Cat and Clem. What ever is available is what I like to use. Thanks for the reply.
