Palos Verdes

Decided to head to the boat this weekend with the wife and our friends Bobby and Linda. Woke up Saturday and it was a bit snotty out so we opted to hit PV. Stopped by San Pedro bait and pick up a nice scoop of squirts. Got to talking for awhile and took off when we realized that the bait money was still in the salon. Went back and squared up and we were off. Anchored in 65' of water and the wife reels in a 4lb calico, 1st cast. The bite was off the hook until the tide changed. Just then, a CC pulls up and calls us on the radio. They lost all their power and were drifting into the kelp. Pull the hook and towed them back to 65' of water so we could fish until Vessel Assist arrived. Nice guys who caught a nice flatty earlier. About 12 we had an uphill current and Linda's rod goes bendo. Light set up with 12# and what would it be? A 40"/ 19# WSB off PV. Called some friends, Chuck and Lawrance on the Betty L. They headed over and had the same luck . Awesome day, WSB, Calico, sand bass, bat ray, johnny bass, spanish mack, etc. Also, our friend Ryan at the dock caught a 40# WSB at the Island, back side.

I tried to post the pics, but it says a "security token" is missing. Sent ther admin a message and will post them tomorrow.

Good fishing you guys. I saw you going out as well as the boat you assisted. We were heading back, in our little blue tri hull. It felt like we were in a washing machine out there early Saturday morning. I understand it calmed down in the afternoon. My 12 yr old son picked up one small sand bass as big as the big hammer he was using. We called it quits after that. We hit the wall for the rest of the day for the small calicos, but had a good day anyways. Hope to hit palos next mouth.

Hey Art,

Iam the rescuee.......thanks alot brother, I owe you more than a couple rounds of your favorite beverage. Congrats/Good Job on those WSB now I only wish Vessel Assist would have come later. I turns out that the batteries are fried wont hold a charge like you said something it turned out to be something small/obvious.

Thanks Again,
