testing out my xmas present 12/27

Got a new fishworks outerwater jacket for x mas and had the chance to test it's waterproof dexterity in the bay on monday. First stop was the bait reciever for nada, then we met mark(bait tank) around the zuniga area, and went off looking for bass and butts. Travi farmed a definite butt after it spit the hook twice. His artafishable came up slashed like a sardine. then we got bored and trolled around the area for bonito we captured maybe twenty or so before heading to my spottie honey hole. Travis pulled two nice ones out a solid 2 pounder and a monster 3 1/2 I got one on my brand new calcutta 250, hand both of his were caught on his brand new californian bass rod, 7'. Pretty bitchin rod for 50 bucks and a lifetime no questions asked warranty. You break it, bring it in and get a brand new one. Mark had dissapeared out to the point and was getting lots of fish, but I didn't have the gas, nor the ability to make it out there in my 16' flatbottom. Don't get me wrong we tried, but we were having a tough time idling. By 1200 we were fishing the protected waters of driscolls warf, sneaking around the commercial slips with my trolling motor, nada. Docks over by the red sails in produced an incedental bonito, and the Kona Kia docks produced a few short nibblers before we called it at 1400. we got tossed around "like a lit joint" as Travis said. We caught like 10 or so bass and twenty bonito, so I guess it didn't suck too bad. Until next time catch one for me.

You guys should try mission bay. I know a few tourney guys that fish nothing but bass and love MB. 6lb test with spinner baits...

We've fished mission, both of our biggest spotties were caught out of there, at least I know mine was. 5 pounda. There's alot piled up in the Dana landing docks and I like fishing the bridge pilons with plastics and as Jason said spinners.

Yeah definately. If you take care of it, you know a little WD40 after a saltwater beating will keep it smooth for well over what's expected I previously purchused two others an old 200, and a 400. The corrosion X is my favorite. costs 15 bucks for the big aresol can but it lasts you forever.

Bad news "on" or IN? I just picked up Some reels from Shimano, while I was standing there waiting, the Guy behind the Counter was telling another lucky shimano owner, to never use WD40 inside the reel, Do the the fact that it desolves the grease they use on the drags.

As for the anodized gold finish no worries

Personally I use Penske's Silicon spray corrosion inhibutor on the exterior of everything marine, including my Boat Engines annicular components. after each use I give the Motor a good wet down by the next trip it's always evaporated

I thought they were dry drag reels.
