| long beach breakwall
still a lot of bonito ( hoop net bait ) outside of the LB wall. We caught all of them trolling broken back diving plugs down the wall. Also caught a few calicos. This is what we were forced to do after having no love on the hali's. Oh well! No lack of trying for the butts. Trolled, drifted, bounce balled. There was even a real nice tide. I had a newbie on the boat and was hoping to impress with a big fish. Not the number of rods and different rigging methods there are. Talked to few bloodydeckers out there-bertram 31. Nice to share info. on the water.

Hey man, nice talking to you too.Yup wasnt for the lack of trying.Man it was friggin cold out there in the morning, i found myself half the time sitting down inside the cabin watching the rods as nothing happened.Oh well thats fishin, still not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning.I really felt good about the time of the hi-tide but that uphill current in the flats where i was at doesnt seem to produce fish.

Thanks for the report and sorry to hear about the tough butt fishing. There where some realy good guys out fishing around us sat and they just had a scratch at'm too so dont feel bad. "Noram J" a commercial boat told my buddy he hadn't caught a legal in two days!! That little bit of rain brought alot of trash and tea colored water into the harbor and may have shut the bite down. Might want to try a different area as inside is getting pretty hammered. I know I will be. Anyware from Cabrio down to Dana has butts in the sand. Just put it on autopilot and head south in anyware from 20 to 60' at 1knt with some baits on the bottom and you'll get bit.

thanks unreel. Yeah there was alot of tea colored water inside. I thought about heading south all morning. Your post from saturday and the commercial boats on the inside sunday made me stick it out. Not to mention I have had some nice catches in that area. I will be out trying again soon. Tight lines!
