Cracking the code, they're still crawling

Went out hoop'n with Dean (BankRobber) the other night and dropped a few nets localy off UnReel. We hooped from 7pm untill around 2am. We used 5 Eclipse nets and 5 Danielson nets (both produced equaly ). Bait used was salmon heads, mack's and skipjack. 1/2 hr to 45 min sets in 30' to 70'. We set our nets out in small groups of two or three over 6 areas and slowly grouped them together as some spots started producing. Ended up with all our gear on two spots as the other 4 where non-productive. Final outcome was double limits . Had to work for them but we got'em. Total for the night was 16 lobsters (1 short, 3 measure lobsters, 6 solid keepers and 6 of the nicer 5 to 6lb grade). Here's a couple pics.

Nice Catch

Nice catch B!
A little persistance really pays off. That Salmon head seems hardly eaten even with those 2 big boys in the net!
Boy, Mark sounded pretty bummed (on Let's Talk Hook-up) about having to put in a whole day at the shop this weekend! I think you're spoiling him!!!
Good Hoopin'

Thanks guys. Had to work a little harder and longer than we wanted to but it paid off. Also, the trip was after Dean and I had Thanksgiving dinner with our families Thursday night. I was way to crispy to go pulling after the ATIHC.

Jim, the sets with the short soaks don't give the lobster much time to eat the heads. The spider crabs on the other hand where striping the meat to dang quick. Love the salmon heads because I can get two or three trips out of them. Let them sit out for a day and the lobster love'em, neighbors hate you though !!!!

Dean, My HPP (hoop pullers pinky) is about cleared up !!! Cant go tonight though, let me check the tides and lets do another one soon.

HPP is the worst,,,only thing that heals it up is getting back out the following night. Try the Heavy duty orange commercial grade lobster fisherman gloves that fit up to allmost your elbow,,,they are puncture and water resistant, they also keep your hands from getting so hammered. These things last forever too. The old lady likes it when my hands are so soft. OH baby!
