After a three week hiatus I finally had enough time to go out and fish. We were amped because the reports have been great the last few days. Left early because we knew it would be busy and we still waited about a half hour to get bait. Nice lively dines, this was going to be a great day.... until we get out to the bull kelp and realize my leg hit my bait pump switch and almost all of our bait was dead.
We flylined what little bait we had left and got into some barricuda. They broke off all our lines and with 10 dines left we decide to bust out the rapalas.
We bring in a few LOGS and then it died down again. Troll down towards LJ Shores and then back up..... BAM, I get hit hard. This thing peels out line like nothing I've fought before. I tighten down my drag even more and it's still peeling. Finally wears down and I start getting to the boat. Then he he makes one last run. SO MUCH FUN. Got him to the surface and we stick him with the gaff. Nice fish. Probably around 12-14lbs.
Anyway, heres the crappy cell phone pic:
