SM 5/10 W/ Red Drum Bass, Triggers & a Pencil(no t-sharks)

Very good day.

Fished Saturday morning with my good buddy Vince aka Red Drum on his 15ft aluminum boat the Red Drum.

Started fishing for bass at grey light and got a double hook-up at the first spot. From there it was WO on sand bass with some nice calico's mixed in.

All bass caught on VS lead heads and Big Hammer & Bass Trix swimmy's.

Stopped counting after 30 bass.

Some bass photo's:

Wind started to pick up so we left the bass biting around 1p to target triggerfish. And what can I say, the most WFO trigger bite I've ever been in. Every drop got hammered. And for those of you who haven't fought one of these fish, they pull very hard. Hard enough to break two hooks.

10 plus triggers landed. At least that many lost.
7 - bucky's
2 - wrasse
1 sculpin
1 - 40-50lb bat ray

Vince getting the fun started:

MY personal best trigger.

Nice trigger with some bucky's in the backround.

Headed in around 3p due to windy conditions and lack of beer.

Vince managed a pencil in the marina.

Thanks again Vinny and I can't wait for our trip up north.

Hey j,

Nice report bro, what a fun day of fishing. It would've been great to fish the evening bite, but the darn wind messed things up.

People keep them for ceviche. We let them go. We target them for fun since they pull so damn hard.
