hey guys I have a .223 with a bushnell that was boresighted at the shop but isn't zero'ed in yet, would anybody be interested in helping me get this thing dialed in? are there some ranges here in santee/lakeside (or relatively close) with people who could help me? any help is appreciated
my dad is very proficient in it and wants to help but he lives in utah and i dont think i can get out there anytime soon.

If I was closer I'd lend you a hand. Shouldn't have a problem finding someone near you to go help ya at the range.

A good bore sighting should get you with a few centimeters of the hot spot. I wouldn't worry about it.

bore sighting should get you on paper, dial in from there.....shoot a 5 shot group (off center) then adjust all at once. should be pretty close....Project 2000 range is in spring valley off the 94. thats where i go. its an indoor 50/100yd range. i like it.

when you get there, rent a spotting scope and a led sled if you don't have them.. $3 each for the day

I need to remount a scope on one of my rifles, let me know when you want to go. If I'm not busy at work I'll go.

take a spotter with you . most scopes are adjusted a quarter inch per turn. so lets say you are about 3 inches low and 3 inches right turn each dial 12 clicks that will put you very close.

Hey dude, not sure at what range you want to sight your rifle in at, but if you can only get short indoor ranges. The flight path of a .223 round crosses the line of sight at 32 (still going up) yards in the same place as it does the 300(coming down). That means that if you sight in for 32 yards you should be shooting the same as if at 300. Of course thats just an average with a 65 grain FMJ and a 22" barrel under a specific load so you rifle and round may vary a little but should be closer than most people could ever tell the differance. We use that trick to sight in our 16's when we can't get a full length range for zeroing. I know it's hard to find a place to shoot other than indoor ranges in socal. Of course you could allway drive up to my pops house in Montana and shoot at any distance you want, but thats a few hour trip. Hope this can be of some help. Good luck.
