denis, public pig land is hard to come by. A few guys I know have some luck, but mostly, it's all private land where the little piggies hang out. Your best luck is going further up to Northern CA, but at that point, you might as well just get a guide and hunt local.

Most public pig land will be hunted hard but that does not mean you can't get one. Try hunting midweek if possible because all of the hunting pressure is on the weekends. Do some scouting and determine where they are feeding and where they are bedding and be ready to ambush at first light. I have hunted all through that area up there and it is absolutely loaded with pigs.

You might want to contact a local game warden in the area you wish to hunt and ask for suggestions on where to go for public land hunting. I once spoke to a warden in Paso Robles who told me of incredible public land hunting at an offroad recreation area between Hollister and King City. I don't remember the name of the area but I think it was something like " willow creek" recreation area. I never did go check it out.

The point is that warden gave me information about a good area to go public land hog hunting. They can be a great source of information.

ha Denis I just remembers a spot on a golf course, they were looking for some shooters, but that was a few months a go. I'll check and give you a call or my might see you at the meeting.

Rubberhook2, I think that area is called Scott Creek. There are a lot of asbestos mines there.

You may be right James. I know it was "creek" something. Whatever it was it sounded like it had potential...

some of the brothas from TOF are planning a hog trip soon, you might want to check it out and see if you can tag along.
