waterfowl taxidermist

Anyone have any recommendations for a good taxidermist in southern california. Looking to spend between 175-225 on a mallard mount.
Thanks

Re: waterfowl taxidermist

Take a look at Fowl Wear

Kevin Moreau (sp?) is in Santee, he has quite a reputation, is reasonable and has a good turnaround.

Hope that helps!

Re: waterfowl taxidermist

You need to talk to Breck Dickenson in El Centro. He does great work, lots of waterfowl. Tell him Nate Treadwell sent you. Taxidermist for taxidermy and mounting, El Centro, California.

Re: waterfowl taxidermist

I have had good results with Darius Mostoufi. Excellent work with lots of awards. He charges $250 for ducks, $300 for medium size geese and $350 for honkers.

I have attached a pic of a wood duck he mounted for me as well as a link to his website. Check out the photo gallery of mounts...

Be patient though...the guy is very busy.

Kevin Moreau in Santee has done over a dozen ducks for me and my friends . He's quite a hunter in his own right .

Try Mike Berry, Animal Crafts in Pine Valley. He does my deer and I've got friends that use him for birds

Re: waterfowl taxidermist

Darius does great work, but like was already said, be VERY patient. Chuck at Ojai Taxidermy does AWESOME work and is extremely easy to get a hold of.

Re: waterfowl taxidermist

Thanks guys for the info. I am going to go with kevin, I found out his brother is a good friend of my brothers. I am going out this weekend here on base again to try and get a second bird for a dead mount, if not this one might have to sit in the freezer until I get back from Iraq.

Re: waterfowl taxidermist

Noel Vaniver in Holtville, i have a blue goose there right now and know people who are very satisfied with his work, hes retired and isn't going anywhere so you shouldn't have a problem. Charges 100 for ducks and 150 for geese.
